It was a trial run to see if I can pull off some Valentine's mini sessions next year. I have this friend, Loria who is just good for me. I'm more myself with her than a lot of people. She knows I'm crazy but somehow sticks around. She's a fabulous art teacher and owns her own business, stringbean creations. We started bouncing ideas off each other and before we knew it we had pinned a whole board of ideas and were ready to start crafting. Loria often talks about her dear friend, Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane is also a incredibly talented business owner. She owns Magpie, which is a handmade headpiece/headband/hat business. She was a must for this shoot and I'm pretty sure for many of my shoots to come.

He braved the 27 degree weather for some precious 9 month pictures. I'm pretty amazed by how well he did. Maybe it was because he was frozen but honestly I think he's just that happy of a baby. He not only didn't cry but he smiled, looked at the camera and let me capture his sweet little personality. Thank you Vann's for always letting me document special moments in your lives.

You've seen these sweet faces before. Erin is one of my dear friends. We met two years ago when we were both 7 weeks pregnant with our "R" girls. Our life schedule is in tune yet we are so different. Opposites attract right (even in friendships)? Now that I have her in my life, I am convinced everyone needs an Erin. She's authentic. She's wonderful.
Although we are somewhat "new" friends I feel as if we've been lifelong friends. We spend several days a week together and talk daily. I love those precious little girls so much. They are passionate, happy, energetic, determined, beautiful and sweet... a recipe for success. And Stephen, he's not so bad either. jk. He is a wonderful daddy with a gentle spirit.

I am so excited about this couple. We have some mutual friends but have never met. I instantly got giddy on the inside (maybe outside too) when they got out of their car for the shoot.
They've got a look! A Defined style. A visual identity. I was thrilled!

My neighbor and sweet friend from childhood whom I used to play silly games with is now a beautiful wife and mother. I had the honor of shooting her and David's wedding a couple years back and a few days ago I got my camera on their precious Nora. This baby is loved beyond words. She is sweet, adorable and cuddly. There is just something so freeing about nature. A feeling that makes you want to run and twirl like no one sees you except the birds. A peace that comes in the sounds of the earth and not of man. This family inspires me. They make me want to be a better mom, wife and daughter.

Bonnie (the mom) is simply incredible. Her attitude towards motherhood drives me. She enjoys her children so much. She never seems flustered. She adores her kids and they adore her. She melts in her husbands arms. The joy the Kavali's have is contagious.
I had the opportunity to shoot her and Nicks wedding a couple years back and then I did family portraits last year with Jack (the new addition). This year the new addition is growing in her belly. I cannot think of a better woman to take on this challenge.
Nick, he's a gentle spirit that was born to be a father and husband. He is leading his family in this wonderful adventure with such grace.
The girls - I just pray my girls turn out to be like them. They are so respectful, beautiful inside and out AND think Bonnie and Nick are the greatest. It's not common for middle school girls to feel that way about their parents. What a blessing!
Little Jack is on the go. He's ready to explore the world. He's energetic, cute, happy and has a family that thinks everything he does is wonderful.

A true fairy tale. I am one blessed lady. Recently, I have shot some of the sweetest couples. This last one sure made an impression.
When I used to teach, Sarah and I taught at the same school. Unfortunately we never met while I was there. This chick is one of a kind. She's got a heart of gold. It doesn't take much time with her to conclude just how genuine she is. I just love watching her interact with people. She's got this calm, sweet, joyful spirit that is contagious.
Sarah and Matt met on the internet. I love it. I have shot more and more of these couples. There is something so interesting about a love that begins blind and works from the inside out. Matt is more reserved. He is gentle, thoughtful, caring and simply adores his bride. The way he looks at her is how every woman wants to be looked at.

I'm pretty sure they've never met a stranger. I have only been around them twice (engagement shoot and wedding day) and I feel like we are old friends. This couple is sugar. They just have so much love to give. What a special quality.
After the e.session I knew their wedding would be styled perfectly. Meg...she's got it. She made this day look as if a celebrity event planner designed it. So fun to shoot.
Jason was a ball of nerves (only up until he saw his bride). I asked why he was nervous and he said, "Meg has worked so hard on this day I just want it to be exactly what she wants." Presh! Not nervous about their lifelong love, just that the details would fall into place for his hardworking lady.

There is a boutique over at the Avenue that I frequent. It is full of art, jewels, accessories and funky clothes. I love it because it is locally owned and every time you walk in the door you are greeted and assisted by the cutest ladies. Peter's Path has everything going for it. The owner, Christine Peter's and I got to chatting a couple weeks back and she contacted me to do a shoot of her and her three girls.
I have to say these girls were a photographers dream. They all look like movie stars and are as sweet as they are glamorous. She pulled up in a blue beetle and got out telling me she had her make up to put on. I really didn't think she needed any, she is so naturally beautiful. When I suggested doing the shoot with her fresh face, she jumped on it. I was shocked considering I was so attached to my make up as a teenager. She did the whole shoot with her natural glow. There are so many reasons why I love my job. One reason I am thankful for today is that it reconnects me with people from my childhood. Facebook has be wonderful for my business. Danielle and I weren't in the same crowd in high school. I was not near cool enough, but we had several classes together and I always enjoyed her company. I was thrilled when she contacted me to do her baby Kayla's photos. I love spending time with other mom's. It makes me feel more normal for busting into song, dancing or playing peek-a-boo.
This family is so sweet. Kayla is so calm and content. She sat still wherever we put her and participated beautifully. Danielle and Joey are in love with their baby girl. They are patient, joyful and sweet spirited parents.

She just keeps getting cuter. I didn't know it was possible.
We met at the Old Cotton Mill in Monroe, but we were all instantly not as attracted to it as was hoped. I had seen a Cotton Gin on the way and loved its appearance. We hopped in the car and headed to the old Gin. It was a little rustic for baby play but Scout was a trouper and it made for a great background.

I told you she was cute.

About a year and a half ago I had the opportunity to meet the Collins. I did Callie's one year old photo shoot at Vines Botanical Gardens. I instantly loved this family. Grandma and Grandad came along and the whole family adored their Callie. Since then, they had baby Tyler. I was thrilled when Callie asked me to shoot the kids together. This time I got to go to their family land. This land has been in their family for several generations. I truly enjoyed listening to grandad, aka "pop" talking about old memories on this property. This family has love that runs so deep. I even got to meet great grandaddy who was celebrating his 90th birthday. He was full of life. He even pulled out his old john deere for us.

It always makes you feel good when your clients that come back. I shot these three siblings a while back for a present to their mother. I had so much fun watching them interact, aka pick on each other. This time around I got to meet mom and mitch, maverick, matthew, miles, well I think it's Mark. Not quite sure because we had a name game going on.
This is by far my favorite family shoot I've done in a while. They just love each other and LOVE to have fun. I'm pretty sure someone was laughing at least every 30 seconds. Thank you for making my job so great. Happy Mother's day. You sure are loved.

Susan got my information during a bridal show almost a year ago. She called and we met up for frozen yogurt for a consultation. I instantly new we would be a good match and was thrilled when she called back to book me. I remember noticing how organized she was yet she didn't seem like the bridezilla type. I was impressed.

They got married on Friday which means they followed the royal wedding. I must admit I am glad this was the wedding I was at. What's a wedding without passionate kisses, an occasional butt grab and a lot of laughter? Susan and Chris put royalty to shame :)

The whole day was simply perfect. The bridesmaids were sweet, helpful and gorgeous. The groomsmen were hilarious, relaxed and the life of the party. The weather was sunny with a breeze. The decor was planned down to every detail... BUT the best part was a stunning bride who beamed with love and pride and her handsome groom who couldn't peel his eyes off of her. There are just some couples you don't worry about. This is one of them. They have a love that will last. Congrats Susan and Chris!

It's a small world. I got an email the other day from a name I recognized. She had gotten my name from our pediatrician to do a newborn shoot. Scarlett and I went to GCSU together, were art majors and graduated the same semester. So crazy.
I emailed her back asking her if it was the "scarlett" I knew and what my maiden name was. Just love moments like that.

Scarlett married her high school sweetheart, Kenny. Soon after they had a sweet surprise. A baby bump! They haven't been married even a year and they have a precious newborn, Ethan. This little man is quite the looker.

Jeannette is another co-worker of my precious husband's. I am enjoying meeting new people in the "secret society" aka the nursing world.

About a year ago Jeannette contacted me to do her engagement photos. We tried twice to get together but weather did not permit. I was bummed but luckily they got pregnant fast (like 2 months into their marriage) so I got to shoot her sweet bump. What could be better?

This couple is a tall drink of water. They are long and lean except now Jeannette has stuffed a ball under her shirt. She didn't feel that way, but man she carries it well. Take a look at these newlyweds with their precious new addition.

They met tailgating for a UGA game. She meandered her way down to where he was set up and they have never been the same since.
We shot in Athens. We started out at the railroad tracks because it is right where they first met. I'm not a railroad tracks kind of photographer, but I think I was able to make them symbolic without cheesy.

We walked around downtown for a bit

Headed to the UGA campus and played a little game. I asked them several questions which they then wrote their answers on a chalkboard. They were not allowed to tell each other their answers. This answer was to the question, "What is one thing that your love does that you never want them to stop?"

Loved it. I will make you wait a little longer for the other answers ;)

and then we ended at the famous sanford stadium.

My husband is wonderful. I am so proud of him in so many ways. One way is because of the work he does. Noah is a nurse. (Yes, murse...and we do call him focker). All joking aside. He is a wonderful nurse. He is always trying to learn. He truly does care for his patients and I know he must bring sunshine on their rainy day.

Bonnie is one of Noah's co-workers. We have been trying to get together for a while now but weather has just permitted. She has a wonderful husband (Tommy) and two beautiful daughters, Kenzie and Addie. It was so fun watching this family interact and love on each other. What a special relationship they have. It reminded me of being a little girl. I have an older sister and there is nothing that beats a sister. You girls are in for a treat.

This baby and her sister have my heart. They are my girls best friends and I could not be more thankful for them. These girls are so loving and full of life. You can't help but love them and want to play with them.
Riley is almost 7 months. It has been so fun to watch her little personality start to develop. She is such a chill baby. She's laid back, but full of smiles. She sleeps good, eats good and loves good. Oh yeah... and looks good. Take a peek at little Riley.

I had to grab a couple of miss memphis. Memi is not lacking in the personality area. She is a go getter. This child will be a leader. She always makes you feel good about yourself. AND, she is pretty dang cute.

I miss teaching high school. There is something about teenagers that is energizing. They made me love my job and kept me excited about teaching and learning.
Therefore, one of my favorite things to shoot is teenagers. Yesterday, I was able to shoot some senior portraits for this peppy lady. She is about to enter a new stage of life and is so ready to take it on. She really let me see her inner beauty while photographing her outer.

She's got this hair on her arm that grows excessively long. Instead of being like most girls and cutting it, she uses it as a conversation piece.
She's not worried about a fake orange tan, she's got freckled skin and rocks it.
She's not concerned about being "popular" or trying to fit in, she's authentic. She's Sam.
I fell in love with this gal when she was in high school taking my photo class. I loved that she was so comfortable and confident with who she was at such a young age. It's not common.

I can't believe my little baby in a basket is almost a year old. It seems to have gone by so quickly. I used to have to pose him in different positions and now he knows how to work the camera. He's quite the flirt. I always look forward to my time with the this family. I remember vividly the day she sat down beside me in our Spanish 2 course in college (I was instantly obsessed with her hair). I was a little intimidated of college because it was my first semester back from my year off. She helped me realize I was exactly where I needed to be. She was a year ahead of me and was also an art major. I was so interested in her life: her talents, her rabbit, her muscles, her house, her boyfriend and her stories. This girl has become one of my dear friends over the past seven years. Her name is Megan. Much has changed from our goal to get through senior project, to graduate with our MAT's, to become art teachers, to now being the best wife and mother's we can be. And that she is.
The boyfriend I mentioned earlier is now her groom. Just how I instantly liked Megan, I instantly liked Doug. He is a good man through and through. Doug is a softy. He has one of the most gentle spirits in a manly man, I've even seen. His muscles, tasor, and FBI facade is just that, because given any chance he will be laying on the floor playing with a baby or rolling around with a dog or rabbit.
Needless to say, when you put these two together a beautiful marriage was created. One that I love to be around.
About 4 months ago, Megan and Doug welcomed the most precious thing into their lives, their daughter. She is a calm, gentle, joyful baby (I wonder why). What a blessed baby to have this as her family. Meet Corinne.

He was born November 23rd right on his due date. He has changed his parents world in a way they could never imagine. In his 3 months of life he has grown so much, learned so much and has been loved on in such an amazing way. I am proud to be a part of his life, he will do great things.

Once I became a mom, I started loving all babies. I finally get how special they are. I no longer get annoyed with a baby that is screaming in public, I just feel bad for its parents. I often feel like no one could love their babies as much as I love mine, fortunately I am not the only one that thinks that. I got to shoot a family that feels this same way.

She was my first friend when we moved to Snellville in 3rd grade. She loved me even when I cried because I was homesick (the new kid), she loved me in my drama-queen phase, she loved me throughout my many insecure years...she just loved me. Leigh is the kind of girl that gets more gorgeous the older she gets. I am amazed by how she manages her busy life and still can be an amazing mom and a precious lady to her man. She is pretty awesome. (I love her) He is her boy. I've heard about Brent for years and met him a couple times. I have this friend that I've had since high school (erin). She pretty much knows everything about me and has stuck around...not sure why, but thankful she has. We kind of talked about getting pregnant together this time and it actually happened. I was due Sept 23rd and she was due November 23rd. Unless you've been pregnant with a best friend before, you have no clue how fun it is. You have someone to tell all the gross and interesting things that happen to your body.
Before Erin got pregnant I was somewhat nervous for her because her husband Matt did not know he was supposed to go in the delivery room. Have no fear... Matt is here. I truly am amazed by the dad he is. He not only rose to the occasion, but is making this new parent thing look easy. Yes, he did participate in the delivery and did not even pass out.
I am thrilled to have this precious couple as fellow parents. They are doing a wonderful job at loving their boy exactly how he needs to be loved. Take a look at Landon's sneak peek. This babe is cute.

They were the two calmest in the whole crowd. They couldn't wait to see each other and become the Litland's. In the middle (literally) of friends and family, a pecan orchard and chicken coup, this couple said their vows. The rustically elegant atmosphere created a romantically stunning night. Oh how I love to watch babies grow. Grow from sweet, tiny, sleepy beings into energetic, alert, cuddly babies. One of the best parts of my job is to document children's growth both physically and developmentally, and to capture their personalities as they become more evident.

Last visit with liam, I curled him up into a little basket and he stayed. This visit he is sitting up, playing with leaves, kissing mama and daddy, laughing and flirting with me. It is crazy how big of a difference 6 months makes in a babies life.

The little gym is Liv and I's favorite thing to do during the week. It is a great place for children to interact with other kids, bond with their parents, learn new skills and have fun. It is ALSO a great place for mothers to meet and talk "mom". Erin and I met last January in the girls "bugs" class. I liked her right away. We soon found out we were both pregnant and due within a week. Crazy talk because Memphis and Liv are 11 days apart and Riley and Reese were only born 2 days apart. We are clearly on the same schedule. We soon started meeting up at he park during the week and seeing each other at the gym. I am so thankful for this relationship. Erin is so good for me. She is laid back, confident, energetic and just naturally beautiful inside and out. She truly is a supermom... I'm kind of jealous.
Anyways, Erin asked me do a photo shoot of her family. I have to admit it scares me to photograph friends. Hopefully these pics do their beauty and personalities justice.

One of the biggest blessings in our lives is that we put down lawrenceville pediatrics (loganville campus) for Liv's pediatrician when she was born. We thought it was a different practice, but our mistake led us to Dr. Magill and Julie, PNP. These ladies continually amaze me by their expertise, calmness and entertainment factor but most of all their love for "their" kids. I constantly brag on this dynamic duo and think no mom should settle for less.
So...on with the show. The Kirkman kids are fellow Lawrenceville peds fans. They were referred to me for a quick photo shoot. What a precious family. Let's start with baby Vance.

He's got this twinkle in his eye that shows you his sweet disposition.

If this doesn't make you want to have kids, you might be crazy.

Next we have Blayne. Blayne is three. She is a beauty. Mom and Dad called her "princess."

Can you see why? She is soft spoken and is a wonderful sister.

The oldest is Zak. I loved watching Zak interact with his siblings. He is so gentle and protective at such a young age.

We tried so hard for a couple photos of all the kids. One of the most challenging tasks as a photographer. I believe the challenge was met. I love love love their evident personalities in this image.

My Liv is now 22 months old. I couldn't be any more proud of my punkin. She has truly been the sweetest big sister, almost scary sometimes. She always wants to hold "baby weese" (aka, baby Reese), feed her a bottle, kiss her, put a paci in and out of her mouth and tell her "night night." I am one blessed mama.

Lil' Coop is One! What a joy it has been to document this sweet boys 1st year. I am going to miss my visits every 3 months. This just so happens to be my sis-in-law. I met Hannah eight years ago when her brother decided to bring me home to meet his family. Hannah was in eighth grade, played soccer, clarinet and loved drama. She was a tough cookie, always getting thrown around by her older brothers, but you could tell they meant the world to her. I have had the honor of watching her blossom into such a beautiful lady inside and out. I am constantly amazed by her talents and her way with words.

I remember the first time I heard about Justin. Hannah was a little shy speaking of him so I knew it was more than a fling. Over the years I've watched how Justin treats Hannah. You know older siblings are always skeptical :). I have to say, he is her match. Their love for each other is evident in all that they do. I am so happy Justin is joining the family.

My sweet husband is always passing out my cards and telling his co-workers about me. I've gotten several shoots booked by him (thanks, babe). It is always a pleasure to meet the people he works with. I feel like the hospital is a completely different world and I only know about it through stories. Thanks to all the nurses who have given me a glimpse into my husbands work.

So today, I got to meet an old co-worker of Noah's and her precious family. Her and her husband (kelly and casey) have two beautiful daughters (evelyn and caroline). Since I am about to have two girls of my own, I love watching sisters together. Evelyn was unhappy about getting her picture made, but I have to say I caught a couple moments that made the whole experience worth it. Take a sneak peek at the Inoue kiddos.

In third grade my family moved out into the middle of nowhere, Snellville. Our neighbors (the Simpson's) have been a blessing since day one. Our parents instantly became friends, as did us kids. We spent many a day playing "horse", swimming and throwing snowballs. I had the privilege of shooting Kate's wedding back in December and now had the honor of shooting Drew's wedding this past weekend.
Drew is the type of guy you would trust with your daughter. He has always treated the women in his life with so much respect. I admired his encouragement, support, protection and friendship he had/has with his little sister, Kate from elementary school on.
I started hearing about Kelly years ago. I had not met her, but knew she was special the way the family spoke of her. When I got the chance to meet her, I could see why Drew loved her so. She is beautiful (inside and out), driven, has similar interest, easy to talk to and simply adores her man. Plus they kind of look alike.
Watching this couple love on each other made me want to grab my man. Congrats on your new journey.

It is always a joy to have returning models :) This precious couple is now expecting a little guy on September 26th. It was so fun talking with them, since I am due only three days prior. John and Jenna are such good sports. John had his hands full with two prego's. I wish I had a video of us ladies crawling through windows and walking around slippery rocks. It was all worth it. I have always loved the beach. I grew up going once a year to Long Beach NC with my family and then in college discovered Tybee Island with my sweet husband and girlfriends. There is just something about it... a huge reminder of our creator.

This year our family rented a house on Myrtle Beach. We were in a wonderful residential location right on the water. What a sweet time it was with the people we love. Liv and Elijah loved all the attention, the sand, the ocean and the baby pool...but most of all, Liv fell in the love with the moon. Aunt Cindy showed her the moon every night for a chunk of time. Liv has not figured out why it only comes out at night, she just wishes she could see it all of the time.

I am so thankful for our vacation and the memories that were made. I am truly blessed with a wonderful family.

I watched her grow in her mama's belly, and was so amazed by the whole process. She has such a wonderful mom... calm, loving, witty and fun. I remember the day Miss Abbie was born. I had been waiting for a text from Amanda. What a precious little baby. I remember the first time I held her. I was amazed by God's creation. Abbie is now 2 1/2 and such a joyful child. I enjoyed our visit so much and wish we could see each other more often.

I am so proud of my precious Liv. She is growing and changing in so many ways, however, one thing that remains the same is her joy! I am constantly amazed by who she is. She is learning new words daily, trying to sing her ABC's, getting less shy around other kiddos and giving kisses and greetings generously. This morning she pulled my shirt up, pointed at my belly saying, "baby" and reached down and kissed my tummy. Baby Reese is going to have such a loving big sister. I love staying at home with her. I have to admit it is a much harder job than teaching, but I am so thankful to be able to take on the challenge. Thank you baby girl for teaching me so much. I love you.

I remember a year ago getting the phone call that my sister was in labor. Noah and I found the earliest flight we could get on to head to Houston. I was so proud. Elijah was born before we got on the plane. I got a text message photo and was showing it off on the plane. The flight attendant knew why we were flying, I could not contain my excitement. I never understood how my aunt Cindy felt until I laid eyes on my precious nephew. It was love at first sight. This little boy knows how to steal hearts. He's got this smirk that makes me go into insta-kiss mode. He has learned so much and developed quite the little flirt personality. I am blessed to have him. We all are. Thank you sister and kyle for such a wonderful gift!
